Sunday’s Stitches & Stuff – Episode 30
Hello March! For some of us, this month sure did roar in like a lion; rain, snow, never-ending gusts of wind. Here at our refuge, we survived fine, although I did look out the window expecting to see Dorothy flying by in her house, once or twice. The wind kept the animals on edge, so we had a few rough spots here and there. Also, the temperature drop was unnerving. The past week for me has been very, meh. My chronic injury was flaring up and that kept me down, plus the gloomy weather didn’t help. Thankfully I always have my stitching and reading to distract me. (more…)

WIP Wednesday – Episode 32
Happy Wednesday! I hope this finds you well and enjoying life. This week I have been mainly working on my Fabulous Women In History project, with a small deviation on Valentine’s Day. However, my stitching progress was impeded by that rascally Frog! Do you have projects that seem to attract the Frog more than others? For me, it is Fabulous Women in History, and for the life of me I cannot figure out why. Anyway, here is my update. (more…)

WIP Wednesday – Episode 31 – Happy Valentine’s Day
Happy Wednesday! I hope this finds you well and enjoying life. This past week I have been working on two projects and have a small one planned to celebrate Valentine’s Day. For the most part, I tend to switch projects on either Sunday or Monday, depending on how I am progressing. This week I wanted to make as much progress on Into The Jungle as I could, so I stitched through Sunday night and made my switch on Monday morning. (more…)

Sunday’s Stitches & Stuff – Episode 27 – Another FFO
Well, this has been an interesting end of the week. Thursday morning I fell out front of the house and banged myself up pretty bad. In fact, my knee is still swollen and stiff, giving me a bit of difficulty. Thankfully it is responding to ice and medicine, just slowly. In the meantime, I’d like to share another Fully Finished Object (FFO). (more…)

WIP Wednesday – Episode 30
Happy Wednesday! I hope this finds you well and enjoying life. February is in full swing and this week we have started off strong here at the Refuge Since last week’s update, I have been working on finishing up the September pattern from the Year of Celebrations series. In fact, I finished this one up on Saturday night. The backstitching of the letters was actually quite enjoyable. (more…)

Sunday’s Stitches & Stuff – Episode 26 – Fully Finished Princess Carriage
Greetings on this Super Bowl Sunday! What team are you rooting for? As a Philly girl I am required to root for the Eagles, but since I am not a football fan, I will be sitting next to my husband stitching while he watches the game. My plan is to work on the lovely Toucans that arrived in my mailbox this week, the February block of the Into The Jungle SAL from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. They are adorable, make sure to look for my weekly update on Wednesday to see how they turn out. In the meantime, I have decided to change the structure of my Sunday posts, to give myself the freedom to have some flexibility and variety to what I write about and share. So for this week, I’d like to share an FFO (Fully Finished Object)! (more…)

WIP Thursday? – Episode 29
Hello fellow stitchers. This weekly update on my cross stitching is being brought to you one day late, thanks to an awesome migraine that came to visit me on Monday night and stayed until early this morning. Seriously, Monday evening was the start of the worst migraine I’ve had in a long time and pretty much kept me from doing anything other than sitting quietly in a dark room for two days. So that also means that there was not a lot of stitching getting done. However, I did manage to finish the August motif from Year of Celebrations and get a start on September. (more…)
